Taste of Sharks

"I wouldn't be shocked if another politician's name comes up, they're all pompous bastards."

Oh am not the one saying it, it's the man beside me. He looks upset, maybe i should ask him?
Ah maybe not. He's old, tired and upset as i said, remember that one line quote by a strenuous old man?  "Never frustrate an angry man(takes a pause..coughs) and says angry old man".
somehow my tongue was granted permission without my consent and letters rolled out
"which party do you support?"
He gave me that not so bothered look, turned back to the tv remote and was struggling to change channel. I went up and changed the channel
"I don't support any party"he said and took a pause.
"I like when these sharks are caught, the big fishes. These are the one that are to be taken out." he raised his voice and stood up saying these words.
He was looking old with wrinkles yet looked tough and strong minded.
Now that i've broke the ice as big as an ice berg, felt comfortable.
"Can i know your age?" i asked
"I don't remember" he smiled and added
"but this solar night lamp would have been a wonder at my time" he showed the lamp on the shop counter and laughed aggressively, I wasn't startled though.
He sat back and i pulled a chair beside him. Somehow, The facts that i keep hearing about human history fascinates me and if you're looking for them in books, the information is limited. Listening to people who knows what they're talking gives out more.
"Do you think we'll ever get a selfless leader?" i asked
"It's not about getting a selfless leader, people aren't even bothered to go vote. We used to be very patriotic and had lot of respect towards our Country, that kept us together and alive."
"India is not like any other country in this world, it takes a lot of avidity to bring all the cultures and religions together." he said and smiled at my widely opened eyes
"There are people who sleep beside string lights on roads, enjoying the colourful night. It might not feed them, but those lights spark in their eyes. Life's all about happiness kid" took his turban cloth around his neck and tied on his head.
"You might be upset of your dripping Ac & your sister might be of her nail polish colour...."
"how do you know about my sister" i interrupted
"...just giving example" he said and continued..
" Everyone has their own kind of problems and the leader has different kind of problems, who's there to lead?"
" Were you in politics anytime before?" i was almost sure that he was
"I was, stay away from it. waste of time"
"Atleast i know what my grand daughter wants!"he had the biggest smile i've ever seen.
"this elephant ring" he took out a ring out of his pocket and said his Neenu likes it.
He took the mud road, yet he was happy
He is old, yet he feels young.
We take the highway, yet whining continues
We are young, do you feel young?
I came out of the shop and saw a car pass by which had a sticker of spongebob wearing a nerdy glass and it said "Hello Indian" in the bubble at the right top of it. After this tiresome conversation in unhealthy sun would have made me dream of my comfy bed by now, but i kept thinking.
If there isn't patriotism now, why would people thrash previous government in such a shaming way.
Maybe it's one of the ways.
we used to eat food in skulls, few millions of years later plates made of palladium popped up.
World changed, the way people shows patriotism changed.
As of today i have learnt something about Big sharks that're disguised as politicians and how an old man enjoys tasting them, an elephant ring that can bring happiness in little girl's eyes and happiness that never extinguishes travels from heart to heart. Everyday is a new day, every new day is a happy day.
